I have a 20' All Purpose trailer that we use for my 4R and our Willy's. What do you tow it with?

I was told not to tie down a car/truck to the frame (did it for years) but rather go over the axles. Found a set of 4 ratchet tie downs on ebay fairly reasonable, used them for awhile now and work great..I still carry a set of chains and binders just in case some low life slices a strap...

the wear straps where they contact the axle have not shown any wear after being used 8-10x's nice thing is that they can be easily replaced with old fire hose if need be.

yea, i dont see why you couldnt go with chains along the axels.. my buddy has a 9000lb winch on the front and a 2000lb on the back of his flat deck on his trick, and he has two heavy tow hooks on the front and back of his truck. he winchs his down a bit, and throws a heavy strap like ocd has over the flat deck.

i chain over the axles because they are under the suspension and do not move. i always use chains and binders.

I got a set of tie downs specifically for doing a vehicle after having a near disaster with some cheap walmart 5K straps. The kit I now have has loops that are padded and go around the axles then you hook a 10K ratchet strap to that. I have them going off in a V to get some lateral restraint. In addition I put a strap through both corners of my front tube bumper and suck the leafs down almost to the bumpstops. Finally I use one strap through the rear bumper to suck the rear down. It tows much more stable with the leafs are sucked down when there's no body roll on the rig. Tow rig is my 06 DC Tundra and trailer is a 16' dovetailed Carson.

Not sure where the delivery drivers tie down but tying on the frame, you have your suspension in the equation where as tying to the axles, its a direct reliable pressure from the tie downs to the trailer floor.
