help me new truck needs frame repairs

Im gonna start this off by sayin i dont have.much money. The 93 toyota i bought last week has frame rot worse than i though when i puchased the truck. I have the abilities to weld but i only have access to a flux core welder small one. Would that be alright to well some 3/16 or 1/4 plate to repair the frame around the front passenger spring hanger for my rear axle and is this a weekend project. I would rather not take it somewhere to get this done. I know i will have to support the frame remove the hanger and weld the repair panel in and then reweld the hanger to the frame and corrosion protect the inside. This is to good of a truck to not save and i spent my money on a truck ive wanted since i was 16. Anyhelp would be appreciated or maybe a toyota friend in central IL that would be willing to help me out. I am going to buy thematerials but need to know if the welder i can use will work. Thanks in advance can try to post pictures tomorrow

your best bet if to get a larger welder that has better penetration on the frame, grind as much of the rust out as you can and cut as much out as you can then treat, then just weld in plates to cover and support the frame, as far as the front goes i didnt know 93's had spring hangers for solid front axles

If you have the welding skills for this you should be able to get by with this welder. Prep work is the key to doing this the right way.

Before you start get under there and look real careful at the rest of the frame .It does not hurt to use a punch or junk screw driver to press at other likely looking places.

for repairing this 1/8" is plenty.

Pictures would be a help .

You might not need to remove the hanger hard call to make without seeing.

You were just to excited to look at this real careful :jessica:
