Help with crackling noise

Hey guys, Ive searched everywhere for this but not really any luck. When my truck is idling it sounds perfect, when I accelerate, there is a low crackling noise, kinda like someone put a few small rocks in a pepsi can and is shaking it. When I give it more gas it gets louder? I have heard wheel bearings and a leak in the mainifold? Any other Ideas?

Addition: I can get to a set speed and take my foot off the gas pedal and it stops.. if that helps?

huh, never heard of that. I would start by checking for an exhaust leak or something

I wonder if what he is describing isn't an ignition ping aka detonation aka too much timing aka not enough fuel.
