Headlight Harness write up?
Hey everyone so I bought the h4 harness from 4crawler and was reading over the write up and I am so confused. Does anyone know if there is another write up anywhere? Or would someone like to explain how they did it? (pictures are always useful) I have a '96 if that matters. Thanks all

If you still have questions, call or email Roger with the specifics and he'll get right back to you. I wish more companies shared his dedication to customer satisfaction.

What step(s) are confising? As I replied in my e-mail to you:

Nothing else is typically needed. As noted on the web page:
http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...l#Installation
Plug the harness into an old headlight connector
Plug the harness headlight connectors into the headlights
Hook up the power wires to the battery + terminal
Attach the black ground wires to the body sheet metal

Ya got it working but still can't figure out why my dims don't work with the new harness. I did switch the relays and then the brights didn't work so maybe it got shorted or something? everything did get when with the mud and rain yesterday...Guess I need to mount them a little higher, do you have a picture of where you have your black boxes mounted?

Mine is stuffed under the engine fuse box:

Make sure the relays are mounted with the socket down, perhaps you got water inside the connector or relay. I did that one time when I had them upside down and was washing the engine off. I guess the high pressure water spray temporarily shorted out one of the relays. A day or so in the sun dried it out and since making sure the relays sit with the socket side down, have had no issues with water.

Alright good to know, mine were kind of just sitting there so i'm sure they have water in there. What about the alternative fuse you talked about in the write up, is it necessary and where do you put it/them?
