Hard start when warm?

I did a search and found a couple threads, but none that had the same symptoms as mine.

94 Toyota pickup 22RE, 5sp.

Starts very quickly when cold or when it has been sitting for more than an hour or so. When trying to start when warm though it will just crank for 20 seconds or so. Cranks fine, just won't start. No smoke when it starts so I assume it's not a leaky injector issue. Once it starts, it runs just fine. No engine light.

Anybody have any ideas?

Is this solved yet?

Lots of ideas but not sure how many are relevant.

The symptoms to me say "flooded" by that I mean excess gas lying in the bowl on a carbureted vehicle and yours would be fuel injected.

However follow along with me...

When a no start occurs there must be a problem with either spark or fuel.

So can you verify a spark to any plug when this happens? If not do so-have a friend do the crank of the ignition key while you pull a plug wire to check it.

If you are not capable of doing this yourself then take it to a qualified mechanic.

We can go on from there but I wanted to see where you are at on it. I am an accountant but can certainly talk you through this.

Hardly anyone cruises newbie tech so don't be intimidated to post on the main pages....

Try the feul pump test jumper and see if that helps (or not):

If it helps, troubleshoot why the fuel pump is not getting power during warm starts.
