general improvment suggestions
hey yall im new to the forum and i want to do some nice improvements to my 89 4x4 22re and im looking for some suggestions? i have the cold air kit and it curently has a glass pack on it which i want to get rid of! im looking at a cat back pacesetter exhaust system.... good or no? from the cat back the exhaust system on my truck is CRAP rattles ect.. way to loud also! but looking for some quality suggestions that would be affordable i also dont have the stock cat back system...

Improvement:
-Remove the "cold air" intake & replace it with the stock unit. Those things are nothing but trouble.
-You can buy the entire CAT-back in one unit from the dealer for about $130 (excluding CAT), plus the cost of any hardware you need. Works great & lasts for years. If no emission testing in your area, gut the CAT & you'll open up the exhaust as well as getting a nice sound; not too loud, just a tiny bit of "bark"~
-Make sure the truck is in a good state of tune & no vacuum hoses are missing/leaking & that all electrical contact points are clean (ESPECIALLY the major grounds (engine to frame, frame to body, etc.). Remove them & clean well, then treat with DeOxit & tighten securely. This includes battery contacts.
-Check for any stored engine codes.
