fuel pump problems

Hello everyone in Yotatech land.
I posted a question a couple of days ago and didnt get to much feed back on the subject.
My 92 Four Runner's fuel pump will not come on after the ignition has been turned on. The fuel pump relay is new and all other relays are working fine. No blown fuses either.
The only way to start my Runner is to use the diagnostics box to jump the fuel pump and it starts right up. Matter a fact it runs GREAT!
One person here on Yotatech told me there could be a problem with the switch on the AFM. Dont know where that is??
If anyone can give a hand it would be trully appreciated. This is the only thing that is holding me back from registering my Runner. I have put alot of money into this Runner and I cant wait to get out and hit the trails!
Thanks,
Daniel

If the fuel pump test jumper makes the pump and engine run OK:

Then there is likely an issue with the Fc contact in the Air Flow Meter since that is what turns on the circuit opening relay to send power to the fuel pump:

Where is the AFM? If is the box attached to the air filter box where the air intake tube runs over to the intake.

Sounds like the circuit opening relay itself..but...

I would go with ^Rogers^ suggestion first, Cause he knows everything in the world.

Thanks 4Crawler!
I will do some testing on the AFM tomorrow. I knew were the AFM is I just thought there was a switch somewhere else. Now that I took a look at the links you sent me it makes sense now. This really sounds like it could be the problem. So if it does test bad do they sell new ones?
Wish me luck!
Thanks!

I imagine Toyota would carry new AFMs, price is likely high. Or get a used one from a junkyard or just run the jumper all the time. Might also check the wiring if the AFM tests out OK.
