Fuel delivery gremlins

Fuel delivery gremlins
Need ideas. I have a 90 dlx 4x4 22RE. When I bought it the guy said he was having problems with it not cranking and running consistently, somedays ran somedays it was totally dead, finally he said he hit a bump, heard a click, and it died, and hasn't fired since. Now it is mine to fix. Pulled banjo fitting at efi and tried to start, no fuel........replaced fuel pump, still no fuel. I though the click sounded like the circuit opening relay, but it ohm'd out fine. I tried jumping the Fp and B+ at diagnostic but still now power to pump. Checked continuity of Fp wire and it is fine. I am going to replace the fuel filter next, but that still won't give the pump power. I was thinking it could be a grounding issue....maybe. Need direction from a knowledgeable person on a troubleshooting path.

Well I found that with a direct + wire to battery the fuel pump ran, with the original ground....so while I had continuity apparently there are weak sections of wire that can't carry voltage. I can run that one down. But with fuel now to the engine still no fire.the banjo fitting bolt was not fully tightened and it was spraying fuel every where, tightened up but no fire. If I pull a plug wire and find that I do have spark then where do I go....injectors? But surely they didn't all clog at the exact same time. Where to I check to see if there is power to the injectors. The gas has been sitting in the tank over a year so I probably need fresh gas. It it should at least try to start, even on old fuel.

We'll after about 10 hrs of troubleshooting here is what I have now. 1. Fuel pump runs with a positive jumper wire to battery. 2. The only way to start the engine is the jump two of the EFI relay posts. Do this and it fires up no problem. Pull efi jumper and it dies. Replaced efi relay but that didn't fix it. I don't understand why the relay jumper works. Therefore I don't know what to fix. Any help please!

Figured it out! Rats ate thru the wire harness going thru the passenger fender well a long time ago and then someone did a piss poor job splicing them together but did a great job at covering it up and hiding it. Respliced all connections and the truck runs again. Now I will go thru each of them and solder in a good connection.
