How can I get new shims or bearings. I see my parts house sells the axle seal since oil is leaking out driver side and it's all over the con passenger side.

Definitely has a "mud truck" suspension... Haha. Holy blocks.

Marlin sells a great front end rebuild that uses very good quality bearings and comes with new shims. But I would take your apart first to make sure thats really the issue. The steering arms should not effect how the wheel rolls...

Ball and spring? Like locking hub parts?

The ball and spring keep the dial in the "locked" or "unlock" position.

some people leave the outside snap ring off, which allows the birf(outer axle) to move in/out.

that will bind the birf up, so that it doesn't turn, per your description, but it seems to be o.k. on the trail... not good tho.

always use all snap rings.
