A locker is defineately in the near future. i read that you CAN put a locker into the factory 488s although some say you cant.

this is what http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/#hipinion says

-Housing offsets pinion towards ring gear, allowing ring gear to be thinner
- OEM Toyota gears are the ONLY gears that fit this diff due to the thinner ring gear. All other gear sets have thicker ring gears and do not fit.
- The carrier (case) is the same as the V6 diffs, so normal V6 lockers, LSD's, etc. will work in this diff

good deal...they offer a Aussie rear locker for your year for around $250. I have a Aussie in my front and its been great. Or you could go lockright...I had one of those in the rear of my 86 and loved it. youll be amazed where you can go in 2wd with a locker
