first gen 4runner half top help

I'm about to cut my first half top on my 86, I want to add something to the back to give it better rigidity so it doesnt bend and flop when i try to take it on/off. Has anyone done this or have any ideas? Also has anyone made a soft top for colder days with the half top? looking for designs/types of fabric.

It looks like on yours the windows move, on some I've seen they cut right behind those windows. Did you put them in where the fixed glass is or did you move the rear glass?
