K&N filters do flow well, but they get clogged easily. I clean mine in my v6 every 2 months in the summer and just before every winter (when it was a dd)

K&N use an oil to "recharge" their filters. That oil, if applied to heavily, gets sucked into the intake and will mess with the TPS and runin it over time. Take it back to origional and just replace the paper filters 2x per year. The stock configuration is basically a cold air intake...

I would definitely understand them clogging easily because of all the oil. For now i'll just clean it more frequently. Thanks guys

Its funny because on the box and in the instructions K&N says it doesn't need to be serviced but every 50,000 miles or sooner under more extreme conditions like dirt roads and that the dirt that accumulates is actually a good thing, they say it helps it filter incoming air better with a little build up. They say that the filter can accumulate up to 1/8 inch of dirt before cleaning is needed. This audio clip explains it all better:

http://www.knfilters.com/audio/autom...Air_Filter.mp3

and here is their faqs page. I can say that I have been running one on my 3.4 for about 100,000 miles (with a deckplate mod) and I have cleaned it only twice in this interval. I have never had it trip any sensors and I would say that the main things is to be careful not to over oil it as it is very tempting to do so. Also being that some oil probably does inevitably (but very very little) make its way into the intake I would also recommend cleaning that MAS and the throttle body every 15,000 or so. Hope this helps.
