Feels like a boat on a very choppy sea!

Hi. First post here, but I have been reading the threads for a few weeks. I'm on my 3rd Toyota. 1st was an 89 22re 4x4 that I bought for $100 and used it to haul firewood out of the woods, then sold for $500 a year later. Totally rusted. 2nd was a 91 3.0 4x4 ext cab that was pretty rusty, but I put new fenders, doors and bed on. Wife made me get rid of it cause it was 3 different colors.

Now the reason for my post. Current rig is a 94 3.0 4x4 ext cab manual. 31 x 10.5 BF All Terrains. This truck is really loosey goosey if you know what I mean. It feels like I'm on a roller coater ride. Oh ya, this truck has 202K and a nice body.

Question: Should I replace all 4 shocks. If so, while I'm at it, what else should I replace? Springs?

I mainly drive on the road (snowy). I'd like the ability to off road a little, but not really rock crawling or super deep and wide mud holes. More like trail riding. I don't really need a lift, since I don't have a sag and the 31's still have plenty of room to the fenders. (see avatar).

Working on trucks is new to me. I'm teaching myself, and i have a friend who knows more... Today I did new headlights, oil change, checked all (I mean all) fluids, replaced a leaking power steering line, and replaced a leaking brake line.

Thanks for all the great posts!

Exclamation Monro

I guess I'll answer this one myself. I'm going with some Monro Sensetrac's since I wont be doing a lot of off road.

If you can foot the bill, I'd go with something a little better like some Bilsteins or OMEs. is your steering real tight? you might need to replace that damper too

shocks

Ya, the steering is tight. I'm still looking at different options. Ever heard of Pro Comps?

If you aren't wheeling lots of shocks will work for you. I had Sensatracs and they ride very well on the street. Off road they fade quickly though.

OME makes good shocks as do lots of others.

Will you ever lift this truck? That can impact the shock you chose.
