Factory 4.88 with a detroit?
Can I use a factory 4.88 third member with a detroit? Or are the gears only compatible with the carrier it comes with?

Yes you can. I just bought one on Monday! Can't wait to get it in. Although I believe it is a heavier duty v6 member.

Yes, you will bolt your ring gear on to the detroit.
