this is a 88 22re EFI motorhome . ok , i'm having power issues so i was checking the EGR to clean / replace / delete etc... once i got it off i noticed it was missing a gasket on the lower . looked all around with a camera and it looks like this gasket had been ripped all along , replacing the entire gasket appears to be far beyojnd my skills ,can i a cut a gasket to fit the EGR and test it out or do i need to wait on some money and do it all at once before moving forward , i don't need to pass emissions FYI and really just wanna test it , it's not a daily driver or anything like that .
You should be using a graphite coated paper gasket on that. Most 22RE EGR gaskets are integrated into the intake manifold gasket; 22R EGR gaskets are not. You could get away with using high temp RTV or cutting a new gasket. Actually, I probably have one lying around the shop somewhere that you can have. PM me your address and if I have it, it's yours.
