Easy yota MX

Easy yota MX
I am just curious, I own an 89 yota with a 22r motor. I love how easy this is to work on, both motor and drive train, and it is super reliable. I am just curious if any of you guys with he newer yotas find them to be reliable and easy to work on like my old school yota. I have been looking casually for a new used yota, and I will start more hard core looking in a year or two. I just wanted to know if I am limited to the old ones. I don't even know if the new ones come with in line 4 cylinder motors, which I love...

The newer ones 95-? do have a 4 cylinder motor. I think it is the 2.7 and dont know which letter designation it is and hear it is reliable as well. Never worked on one myself. You will see them in the Tacomas. I have seen them and think it would be easy to work on but I just like the older body styles for myself. There are some good deals on them if you look around. I almost bought one a year ago.

in general, all vehicles with OBDII and other misc electronics stuff will be more difficult to diagnose and work on. OTOH all of this stuff technically makes things more reliable and easier to diagnose, go figure
newer trucks still have a 4cyl inline available. i've never worked on one, but driven the 2.7L , and it is a hell of a lot more powerful than my 22re. hear they are just as reliable, if not slightly better since they have more output.
I can't really think of any v4 engines in the USA other than a motorcycle.
