I'm sorta new to this stuff and I'm looking at getting a 4Runner...

I was wondering... Is it part of a specific package (SR5?) or a separate option all together?

Per my 2000 brochure the e-locker was not available on 4 cylinder 4Runners, any 4WD V6 could potentially have one though.

I think in 2000 the 4 cylinder was discontinued but it was the last year for the locker.

I'll try to remember to bring the brochure to work tomorrow, I don't have a scanner at home. Myself and Bflooks were discussing this a while back and he was saying how the locker was available on the 2.7, so maybe the brochure is wrong, or maybe they just stopped offering it w/ the 2.7 at some point.

As for 2000 it was the last year of the 2.7, 5 speed and E-locker, I can verify two of those points as I have a 2000 4wd w/ the 2.7 and 5 speed. And 2000 was probably the last year they offered the 4.56 gear ratio in the Runner, which I also have.

 

The 4 banger was discontinued in '01 when the base models were not offered.

 

It took me a while to find this info, it was on Toyota's site as opposed to the brochure, The site is hard to read but it has the info.
