Drive spline Installation Depth?

Hey all. I have a rebuilt 22re (for an 87) motor I'm putting back together. The drive spline was a tight fit and now I'm not sure if it's on far enough, or if that's the way it is. Can someone confirm whether or not the front of the harmonic balancer is flush with the bolt or overhangs some? I would guess it should be on deeper, but I don't want to go banging if not.
Uploading two images; one shows both the shaft and overhang, other shows the timing marks in relation to the pulley. I figure someone might be able to see if there's hangs over the first pulley groove further than mine does.

I have not found a relevant photo or thread for what I'm trying to find out.

This looks right to me.

The crankshaft bolt needs to tension the balancer and the oil pump drive spline tightly to the crank cheek, so there needs to be some space there.

The crankshaft bolt has to be torqued to 116 foot pounds so it will pull the balancer up any little bit it might need, but I think that you're there.

If you 'hammer' it at all, it should be with a wooden, or plastic instrument.

Thanks millball. I used a rubber mallet. I realize now that there's no such thing as too many photos to document the steps. I hope it's good bc I don't want to tear...down...any...more...

I think your fine. Unless you have a piece of metal or something noticeable in the way it will get sucked in when your torque it. If it needs to move at all.
