Door lock actuator replacement

Door lock actuator replacement
I have a 2004 4runner v-6 sr5. The door lock actuator on the passenger side works intermittently, and I was wondering if anyone has been able to retro fit a universal motor on the existing actuator. Any help would be appreciated as these things are quite expensive.
