so i rebuilt my power steering pump this week and i know it calls for dextron III. orileys (kragens) didnt have dextron III so i used orieleys brand A.T.F. says COMPATIBLE with dextron II, and III atf. i know regular A.T.F will eat the seals up. did i just screw myself by not using straight dextron III like the fsm says? Thanks guys didnt even think about it till now.

I have used the Castrol "Import Vehicle Formulation" ATF with no issues. Not sure what level of Dexron that is.

 

As long as it's Dex 3 compatible, it'll be fine.

Dex 1=Dex II=Dex III

Just grab a cheap bottle of Dexron/Mercon III fluid, and you are set.
