Distributor and plug wire advice

I need to tune my truck up but can't find anything other than the Standard motor distributor cap and skinny little factory style plug wires. I have a 94 standard cab with the 22RE. I have however found the MSD distributor and wires, and some from Magnacore that I think are like 8mm and 8.5 mm respectively. My only problem is I think that they are for the previous engine, the 20R motor. According to MSD, their catalog states that the ending year their products will work is 92. Can anyone help me out here. I want to get something a little better than stock without breaking my bank trying to get something from LC Engineering. I REALLY can't afford that right now. Thanks in advance for any and all help you guys can give.
