Different oil pan bolt sizes

Hi everyone,
I have an 1986 4wd 22r pickup with the original engine. The engine gave out and I was replacing it with another 22r from a 2wd pickup of unknown year. The problem I ran into as I was swapping oil pans and pickup tube is that the oil pan bolts are different sizes. On the 86 22r 4wd, the bolt sizes are 10mm all aorund. The ones on the 22r 2wd, that I don't know the year of, are 12mm. I don't mind drilling the bolt holes on the 86 just thought I'd ask what is going on. My guess is that the 22r from the 2wd is from a pre 84? Any other problems I might face due to this? Also the 22r 2wd came with a fly wheel and clutch that are good, will that mate up fine to the 4wd trans and starter?

Don't recall ever hearing about this hoe about some photos?

I thing its much more likely the engine you are installing was modified to m12's because someone over torqued a pan bolt and stripped it.

You're not gonna believe this. I had two blocks that had in my front yard the 86 22r block and a 1.8l block from a miata. I grabbed what I thought was the 86 22r block and took off the oil pan but, turns out i actually grabbed the miata block lmao! All is good now that figured it out. Luckily i didn't drill anything yet! Thank you though!
