diff gears will they fit?

i have 4.56 diff gears and want to put in 5.29s..will they fit in my axle housing?

Sure, as long as you get the ones specifically for the diffs your running.

well im trading my stock gears with a man who has the 5.29s...we are swaping out the whole 3rd members i have a 92 and his is i believe a 95....how do i know for sure they will work like what do i have to match up?

If the gears are already setup in a housing and you guys are swapping whole thirds, then you will be fine.

I would at least check the gear mesh pattern before throwing them in your rig, If they were not set up properly it won't last long.

yep drop em in i run 5.29's with no clearance issues. and as stated above look at the contact pattern if it is crappy i would pass if they were ran a while that way

is it any diffrent if they have lockers in them?? or is it still the same size?

no same size just a different carrier is all. most toy thirds are interchangeable even the elocker with a slight mod. the only one that wont fit is the bigger land cruiser diffs 9inchers i think and the new taco 8.4. a plain third with a locker and 5.29's will fit in there and you are getting a bargain if he is trading you straight up
