Cinder Block

Cinder Block
Just curious if it is OK to put the rear axle on cinder blocks. I want to remove both tires to take them into the shop and would like to just put the axel up on cinder blocks overnight. Bad news, or go for it?

I have to admit I have done it in the past but would not recommend it. Blocks do crack and break. For an overnight thing you could probably get away with it but don't make a habit of it.

I have jack stands, but the truck sits at a slight incline in a gravel driveway so I thought cinder blocks on their sides with the holes facing the sky might provide more strength and a bit of a buffer if the truck decides to "shift".
I was mostly curious if the rear axle could be damaged in any way from leaving that much weight on an inboard point. Thanks for the reply.

About the only place cinder blocks should be is in the bed!!!
They do strange things for no real reason.
You could come out in the morning to find one has just collapsed would that be enough to roll your truck over??
Bottom line it is your truck !!
