check engine light

check engine light
The check engine light came on in my 96 taco
how do i figure out what it means. is there some sort of machine you have to hook up to the computer of the truck to find out.

i figured it out somewhat. i know i need obd 2 to scan for whats wrong but i have a mac and it wont work with it. is there any other scaner with softwar that will work on a mac.
