carb issues

i have 1985 toyota pickup that is a 22r carb motor and i cant get it running agian it was running then i parked it for a couple months till i got my lift and know i cant get it running again if you poor gas in the carb it will run but wont stay running. any ideas would be great thank you

Pull the fuel line off the carb and put the line into a bucket and crank it over to see if fuel is flowing.if not the mechanical fuel pump is junk,or could be out of gas,or a restriction in the fuel line.if it is getting fuel you could have a stuck float in carb.hope this helps.

may need to rebuild the carb fairly easy pull apart replacing parts along the way. Some times this will happen in your situation, once I did a throttle body on a civic and I could not get every thing apart but when I put it back it worked great "couple orings missed" but yeah if it gets gas to the fuel line I would suggest going straight for a rebuild!
