cam / rocker arm fail.

So a few years ago I bought my 88 4Runner and the motor had seen better days. I got it for a fair price and decided to do a complete rebuild. I bought a performance Cam set from LC Engineering and had my tech guy install it.

Now I dont know if he didnt lube to cam lobes, I cant remember if I added an additive, nor can I remember if I did a proper cam break in. What I do know is after some time the motor didnt sound right anymore, something akin to a valve tick or chain slap.

So I got a few other toys and that one has been parked, its time to sell my paper weight but first I want to fix whatever issues it has so i can justify a decent asking price. So I pull off the valve cover and find this!!! Enjoy.

Fortunately for you, an r engine cam install is not hard and can be done in a few hours. Cam gets broken in first after a rebuild. Research cam break in.

Its already been replaced, and the cam break in isnt new to me just merely an expensive oversight on my first rebuild. Live and learn I suppose lol.
