Buying old yota back with brake problem

Hello every one. I am buying my old yota back from a friend i sold it to two years ago after my first deployment to Iraq. I had purchased the truck from another good friend who had owned it for 5 years and built it from stock. When i got the truck all i did was cleaning it up a bit but at that time i had way to many toys and just not enough time so i sold it to another good friend and asked him if he ever went to sell it to let me know. Well after two years of kicking myself in the ass and hounding him to sell her back he has finally came decided to. He is getting out of the military and moving back home with 2 jeeps and his wife says one of them has to go. Long story short he has done a few small things to the truck but mostly basic maintenance. The only issue it has now is the rear brakes are leaking on the right side. He caped off the Y in the brake line so the truck does drive but for safety i want to get the rear in order. I know the rears are 8 inch drums but where can i find the parts to rebuild them at a fair price. Not looking for cheap crap that's going to fail.

I should note its a 85 SR5 with 5 inches of total lift and 35s

Just about any auto parts store should be able to get your parts.

Find out what is leaking !!

While your in there may as well replace every thing for piece of mind.

Just about every thing is made in China unless you go with the dealer

Good Luck

If he caped it off at the y then id replace the two lines that go from there to the drums and then get the new hardware kit pads adjuster drums that way you wont have to worry bout the rear for a pretty good while. And like wyoming said any parts store should have everything you need and with 5in of lift you may want to check and see if you need to get longer lines from the y to the drum that may be what caused the leak in the 1st place

I will have to try to get some from my wife. The only pics i have are from 4 years ago with warn out 33s and before the roll bar. Trying to save up a little money while i am out here to get a new bumper and winch on the front. At some point down the road i would love to drop the 22RE and do a diesel swap but that may be along way down the road since the old girl is still running strong.
