Broken wiper rod, how do I replace?

Ok, so the rod that connects from the passenger wiper to the wiper motor broke the other day and I was wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on how to take the assembly out of a salvage yard truck and get it into mine?? i can barely get my arm back in there from the wiper side so is there a better way to get the assembly all hooked up again?? any guidance will help! thanks

well not sure what kind of truck you have (method is probably gonna be similar) but depending on which one you have you should be able to find the procedure using the service manual link in my signature...

Most wrecking yards call that the "wiper transmission" and its never just simply hooking it back up. Something breaks. Usually the metal rod attaching it to the wiper motor breaks, or the nylon bushing wears out.

Take off the wiper cowl, and you will see how it comes out.

yeah, wiper cowell is off and its the rod that connects to the motor. Even with the cowell off there isnt access to the wiper motor side, the only opening to get my arm through is twards the middle of the truck. Its on a 90 4x4 pickup BTW.. ill check out that service manual dropzone, thanks!
