whats up. ive got a 89 4 runner 4x4 and an 88 pickup 2wd i want to swap bodies . the truck is carb and the 4 runner is efi . should i convert to carb to make the job easier or will that cause my auto tranny to shift funny. are theyre any more hangups i need to know about this sort of swap. any help is appreciated

 

wow this would be an overwhelming task I would think unless you already have mad skills in this area. Which means you would not be online asking about it....

I would have to guess the first issue would be are the wheelbase lengths exactly the same? Specifically from hub to hub the truck matches the Runner?-I guess the more I read your question the more I get confused myself....

You want to pull the carbureted engine out of the truck and now use the 4Runners motor in the truck? Meanwhile preseving the carbed engine to put into the Runner ?

Really is this not a double engine swap?

I am gonna go out on a limb and say this is out of your league, my league, I can't think of anyone that would attempt this.....
