Blown Head Gasket?

What are the symptoms of a blown head gasket? Im not sure if this is what happened to me this morning, but the water was spraying out somewhere next to the thermostat, I couldnt see where it was coming from, but could feel steam from that area...The hose from the thermostat to the radiator is ok..The temp gauge was not reading hot at all, but water was all over...any thoughts would be helpful....thanks

Check your oil and your coolant level. If your oil looks like chocolate milk, it's a headgasket. Have you overheated recently? Not sure what hoses are near the thermostat, but it could be a bad thermostat gasket also,

White smoke in exhaust and chocalate milk oil or a couple symptoms. Sounds like you have an external problem if you are leaking and seeing steam as the head gasket would be an internal problem. Check all coolant hoses for cracks or breaks. Check the clamps to they could be loose. Good luck

Water doesn't typically blow out all over the place when you HG goes. At least not without offering other symptoms.

I would be looking towards a leaking hose or waterpump. Find where the leak/spray is coming from first, then go from there.
