I have a 93 reg. cab 4x4 5 speed with the 22re. Its time for 2 new axle assemblies. What brand you guys recommend. It gets alot of highway miles as well as off road. Thanks HDR

uhhhhh depends on what you do with it...and what you want to do with it? you can just get a rear IFS axle out of a junkyard if urs is toast and rebuild it...and an 85 front solid axle if you wanna go SAS for offroad, orrr you can rebuild ur IFS diff? or you can go some other alternative routes...need a lil more background on what you do and what u wanna do

I would like to keep the stock IFS. It has 31" tires. The off road use is not extreme. I have looked at a lot of different front axle assemblies , but do not know which are good or bad. At the same time that I do the front axles I will also be installing a lock right locker.

ohhhhhhhh so you need new cv axle's gotchya...there isnt to my knowledge any aftermarket cv's that are going to be any stonger...you can get autozone cv's that have a LIFETIME warranty and never have to worry about buying them again..

Can't download a FSM and re-pack and boot a set of OEM NON MADE IN CHINA BY THE LOWEST BIDDER joints?

Will they come get you 40 miles off state route 10, down the dirt road by the old barn, then right, go down 15 miles, then turn left next to the stone fence then down a piece, past the white house with the blue shutters, past the wash-out and up the side of the mud hill when they break?

its called swaping the studs for bolts and making it (quick change) and you can drive with a busted front cv....

or just get the oem axles. I owned them, wheeled them, and loved them. With the oem units i never had trouble with binding while at full droop with the ball joint spacers. When using the axles from..... lets see, advance auto parts all i got was trouble as they broke on two separate occasions and never seemed to be worth a crap. After going oem cv axles on an ifs rig i will never go back. And if i ever own another ifs rig and it doesn't have the toyota cv's i'll promptly pull them and install the "right" ones. Now take this with a grain of salt as this is only my opinion and personal experience.

well everybody has their experiences..i personally weeled autozones with open diff and 35's and a buddy of mine wheeled them locked with 36's mine never broke, and his would occasionally if he was hard on it at full lock...wich i think most any axle will

also depends on where you're wheeling right. Bet you guys in florida break less due to the terrain. (not judging but seems as though you guys do a lot of mudding there) Up in washington there's going to be rocks, logs and other stuff to crawl over. Also take into consideration if he has a lead foot or not. Not saying you didn't wheel the snot out of it but lets be honest the mud is a little more forgiving.

Sometimes I will have a lot of highway miles in 4 wheel drive. Deep snow mostly. rocks,steep hills, pretty much a little of everthing. And I dont have a problem with dropping the hammer to get out or try to get out of trouble. So is there a better brand or should I stick with OEM.
