Again. A PIPE bender and a TUBING bender are NOT the same thing as PIPE and TUBING are NOT the same thing.

Understood. But couldn't you bend roll bar tubing with a bender like that? It comes with the different channel adaptors, depending what size tube you use. And 12 tons of pressure. Maybe the angles wouldn't be as sharp?

Piping and tubing are not interchangeable words and are not interchangeable items.

They are not the same thing, period.

piping vs tubing please so you will understand

The HF piping bender is not meant for tubing, period.

You'd have better luck using the damn trees.

"Pipe is for pressure retention and tubing is for structural stability." Got it.

I made this wakeboard tower out of sch40 and a HF kinker. I'm 225 and I have several friends who are over 250. Three years old and it hasn't had any issues.

I've also made several bumpers, sliders and light bars with it. I wouldn't make a roll bar with it but it is not a usless tool...

Just a question, what is the roll bar in a first gen made of? What about Jeeps?

The HF benders work if you fill the tubing with sand! Im not saying it works great but you will bend it without kinking it.

^ They do actually use it, it just doesn't end up on the truck, but it gets used everyday, usually right after a good lunch

PS if you really plan your build, you can do quite a lot without a bender. We're building this full chassis Camino at work and there is only about 15 bends in the entire chassis.
No bends in the bed cage at all.

The Harbor Freight PIPE Bender is just that a pipe bender, not made for tube, some have said that they used it just fine and others say it kinks every piece of tube that they run through it. You can usually find plans and ways to build a tube bender for pretty cheap, the dies are what will set you back.

Got it, makes sense. Do you know of any links I could follow that show how to make your own bender?

Perfect, thanks. Looks like the dies will be the most expensive part.
