Anyone heard of Rock Products?

I asked the guy at Oregon Engines for a list of brands they use (other than the specialties they advertise like a Crane RV cam) when they build their motors. He said they use Rock Products. Anyone every heard of Rock Products? I'm pretty new to toyotas/engine building. Just want to get quality stuff. Thanks.

From: Nashville TN. I can help you if you're close BUT NOBODY CAN HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T FILL YOUR LOCATION IN!
ppl use Rock b/c they're cheap and have a great distribution set-up...

If you want quality however, visit your local Toyota dealer, or start collecting OEM parts...

B/c nothing aftermarket can touch OEM parts... NOTHING!

Look for AISIN or Nippon-Denso. They are light years ahead of anything aftermarket, and even used they're better parts...

as far as the timing chain kits go, rock auto uses a metal backed guide for the left hand side to avoid failure. I have their timing chain kit and their pistons in my engine, never had a problem with anything from them.
IMHO i would not install a timing set without a metal chain guide for the left hand side, regardless of make. Although, the stock one did make it 180,000 miles before it wound up in the oil pan and it was plastic.
