Always P/S fluid instead of ATF??

All depends on what the system was designed to use. If all the components were designed to work with PSF, then that is what you need to use in it. If it was designed for ATF, then that is what you need to use.

Same way that some manual transmissions and transfer cases are designed to work with gear oil, while others work with ATF.
