AISIN IFS manual hub question
so this is for the guys with runners that have switched to the manual hub setup and guys with tacos that already have them
do the studs that hold the manual hub to the spindle assemble screw out of the hub assembly?
dont really want to have to take my car apart just to find out but if this comes back void i guess that is just the last option haha

Are you talking about the 6-8 little studs that have nuts on them? No, just remove the nuts, take a screwdriver/hammer and tap the cone washers and they should pop off. You will also have to remove the bolt and washer inside to remove the hub. It is under the cover held on by inset allen bolts.

yes gerdo those are the ones im taking about and i know how to pull the hub its just that the last time that i had it apart to try and pull it i could not get the cone washers to budge a bit and i was beating on them prety hard and sine i could not get it off iwas hoping that the studs came off bc i thought that i could unscrew them when i frist put them on but was not sure
anybody else have any suggestions on removing the cone washers or studs bc if need b i will b willing to just cut the studs and buy a new hub assembly to sae the ASIN hub

i have used many different methods, but the one that worked for me is using a brass ball peen and a stiff tap adjacent to the stud and cone. dont beat the crap out of it. it might help if you used penetrating fluid and let that soak. also you can get a thin chisel tapped in to loose the cones. be careful with both because both can damage your hubs.

sorry for the spelling wabbit typing to fast on a break at work haha
see the thing is guys i have done all those things posted and yes i did SEARCH, i have not tried the chisel meathod yet but will try the next time i have the wheel off
so i guess that the ultimate thing is that everyone on here so far says that the studs on the hub do not come out and are somehow cast into them?

From: Nashville TN. I can help you if you're close BUT NOBODY CAN HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T FILL YOUR LOCATION IN!
and hey, twist a nut on the stud a few rounds before you "beat" the cones out...
They can come off like a 22 and if you're not ready, you'll be hunting for cone washers...
I have used a plain ol' hammer, but dead blow on the hub with it, instead of using a glancing blow or just beating on it.
Also, Krol, PB Blaster or WD-40 the ell out of it.

hit the edge of the hub perpendicular to the face right next to the cone washer on the edge with a brass drift. should pop right out or you might have to soak them in pb or something overnight, i always get them out this way.
