Advice on cab swap...

So I have obtained another 86 pickup, 22re, junk auto, and rusted out frame. So my idea was when the time comes to restore my 87, 22r, 5 speed, and good frame pickup I was going to throw the 22re in their. The cab and front clip are non-rusted on the 88. Originally I was just going to tear the dash apart, label everything, and swap the engine and harness into the 87. I have now been given advice just to swap the cab and clip, and install the engine during this process. It sounds like a better idea due to being able to work on the cab (interior, sound proof,line-x, and other things) when driving the 87 and no down time. So those of you that have done the swap, should I transfer the entire wiring harness and other items? Or swap the cab? Thanks in advance. BTW I will not keep it carbed. Thank you.

I'd consider the cab swap if you're wanting to do work on the cab. Also, if you're goina keep that 5spd with the 22RE that was mated to an auto, you will need a new ECU.
