advice for 2nd gen 4runner suspension
I am a newbie to this site and i was looking for some advice about my 2nd gen 4runner it is a auto 4x4 and i want to get rid of my saggy but. nay advice is helpful to me. any thoughts on a 1"BL

theres plenty of small lifts you could get for the back to get rid of the sag. do a few searches about coil lift blocks. youll find tons of info here. Sorry but asfar as the ifs and coil rears im not to much help cause i did a leaf sring conversion and a sas on my 2nd gen.

I just got my truck back up to normal height with some new coil springs.
I bought Moog cargo coils. You can get them for about $70-$80 bucks on different auto parts sites. So far im very happy with them, the sag is gone and it a much more aggresive stance, and it rides better not so bouncy.

I went with the Old Man Emu rear springs. They added about 2" of height to the back end. The truck actually looks level now and with me, my 3 kids, and our cargo, it stays about the same and rides very nicely on the highway. I highly recommend them.

I need to do the same thing to my saggy rear end, but I just haven't had the time to get around to it, I've been looking at either OME coils or Downey HD, I've heard good things about both so it's kind of a flip of a coin as to which I go with.

I have coil spacers and air shocks on the rear suspension. The spacers matched the rear suspension to the front (ball joint spacers) and the shock compensate for heavy load when I need them without decreasing flex in the way stiffer springs will.

I would and will do that eventually, it's in my plans, but right now i can't even find time to put coil springs in and with class everyday of the week it would be nearly impossible to find time for that.

You can find time for swapping coils trust me. Not a long job.
Someone said Downey HD or OME. Having run both I say stick with OME. Another option would be a coil spacer. Would save you some cash and there isn't a down side unless you wanted to change spring rates.

does any one know about 4crawler or Roger Brown? i have read alot about his products.. any one selling some coil spacers?
94 4runner 4x4 im in the same boat as you i have had my runner for almost a year and its time to lift the rear but school and work is always in the way
thanks everyone for the feedback il keep you all posted on what i do to the rear end....
oh yeah dude who did the leaf spring swap..i would love to do that to my rig but way to much money(i couldnt even afford the fox shocks)
do i need to switch the shocks out with 1.5" of rear lift??? or if i crank on the torsion bars in the front???

c) stock shocks will work but its always better to upgrade when you lift. lots of people here LOVE OME, when i had them i wasnt that impressed. i am much happier with my Procomp (procrap as people like to call it) ES9000s much stiffer, and helluva lot cheaper.
d) I just got my business license and will be setting up accounts with Trail-gear (www.trail-gear.com) here shortly. let me know if you need any thing from them, the dealership or baxters/autozone.

i am in the port orchard area kinda by tahula. i hear tahula is sweet but i have never been in the trails. just the puddles... let me know when you get your lic. set up

ide have to vouge with tofer after doing alot of searching and reading it ended up taking me above and beyond just a mild lift and what i thought even posible. (sas, rear leafspring swap, lockers, dual tcases, motor swap + auto to manual conversion, really the list will keep on going and it wount fit on just one page however in the case of this thread it sounds like whats wanted at the moment is making the truck look better not necisarily all out rock crawler. IMO you have to do what you want now or the time may never happen. lift that rear. it may take a few hours but thats what the weekend is for. your enjoyment
do your homework and when it comes time to do the next big project youll be ready for it.
By the way i live in Sammamish, wa outside seattle if you need some help sometime let me know ive got plenty of tools to do just about anything
