About to buy head gasket set... question...

So I keep reading about engine builder and I am ready to order the gaskets i need. Is his gaskets recommended by those who bought them? Here are the kits I am looking at and am wondering if I should get the bolts or not(I know lots of arguments here about that). Bonus! It also looks like they're in OREGON and not Florida or some other far away place!!

I know you guys always scream search but a lot of the threads are full of non related tangents, pictures that have been deleted, etc.

Thanks

The kits:

The kits in those ebay links look like what you get from enginebldr. They're of average quality, not the best, but the prices are good. I just put a set into my 22re.

You probably don't need to replace the head bolts if the old ones look OK.

Ive replaced with fel-pro, rock auto, and ebay kits.

You wanna make sure you never have to do it again like me? Use a Toyota head gasket. You can order the entire set from ebay if you need all the random gaskets or get the intake and exhaust gaskets seperate from your local auto parts store. In the end, the quality of the Toyota gasket is plainly visible in comparison to the cheap ones available aftermarket.

ALSO!!!! Make absoloutely sure both your head and block decks are within tolerance for warpage.!!!!!!!

I bought a timing chain up gasket only kit from engine builder..... used that head gasket, and other misc gaskets.
Also had a Full rebuild kit from felpro....
Their exhaust gaskets seemed to be thicker, and the intake had pre applied RTV of some kind....

Over all I used a mix some of the felpro and some of the rock.

Went back and forth on buying a OEM head gasket or the rock, felpro appeared vastly inferior to the rock, and the original was still on and appeared very similar to the rock.

For the $36 I went new head bolts 2 of mine were rough and rusted, didn't want to clean them and chance a false torque reading.... but I'm a dum guy so :dunno

Ill take the head in but what about the block? Im not pulling the engine and taking it in. Do the blocks ever warp?

I just did my head gasket on the 22re today. I used the topline gaskets out of chicago. They're really good and aside from the toyota oe brand they are the best bet for my money.
