98 4runner RPM Gauge stopped working

Hey guys, this is my first post... I've looked EVERYWHERE and can't find an answer to my problem. That being said, I recently changed all my gauge lights to leds (all of them including the P N R D 2 L lights) and I've noticed some issues. First, my battery light and cruise control light stay half lit all the time, even with the lights off. And after I put the cluster back in , the RPM gauge won't work at all. I also noticed that now my check engine light is on all the time (this is a first). And ideas? and by the way, I have checked the main connections to the cluster multiple times.... thanks!!

Hey, I figured out the problem.... There is a small plastic cover that goes over the plug in for the RPM gauge, and when I put it back on it wasn't allowing the the screws to act as grounds for the gauge. Also, the led that I installed for the R light was not manufactured properly (continuity between the leads) causing my engine light to remain on....

I have the same issue with the rpm guage after changing the lights to LED. how did you fix it? are you referring to the plastic band that plug in with the connectors?
