93 T100 3VZ 2wd auto idles good, stalls before 2nd gear
ISO help, I have a 93 3.0 2wd automatic that stalls right before it shifts into second gear, at the beginning of the issue it would surge erratically around 2k-2.5k and die sometimes or surge slightly, power through and drive fine after. Now instead of surging erratically it’ll drop and stay at 2k without moving with the pedal and slowly drop rpms and stall out. I had to get the truck home the other day and it drove perfectly fine in low gear for over an hour at 3.5k rpm and 25mph so it’s just the shift point to second she dies. Cooling system performed beautifully for that slow ride as well
At the beginning of these problems I went through and cleaned a bunch of grounds, checked all my spark plugs, replaced the wires, replaced a couple of vacuum lines, replaced my throttle position sensor, replaced the fuel pressure regulator after renting a pressure tester and negating the fuel pump theory, replaced the fuel filter, added some seafoam, did an oil change, replaced my entire distributor due to the cam and crank sensor being there, and removed the black plate on the air flow meter and cleaned the surface that the arm that reads the resistance slides on and was able to get more accurate less erratic readings from the maf and I’ve got the timing and idle speed set accordingly all in the last 3 weeks
I received a code 25 for lean air/fuel one afternoon and it disappeared after I started the truck the next time and it didn’t affect performance on the drive it appeared. Due to the problem happening only before the shift I believe the next problem area might be the shift solenoids or the sensor the runs to those and reading other forums has led me to possibly believe the computer could be faulty, any help would be appreciated, thank you
