First of all, Hello to everyone (I'm new).

So I just purchased a '93 Hilux 4x4 which will become a work rig and occasional weekend transportation well into the back 40. What I want to do, is make some modifications that will buy me the ability to take it anywhere without sacrificing much in the way of highway driving.

After reading up on a number of options on these forums, I've decided that I want to go with 1.5" ball joint spacers and 2" coil spacers. Additionally I want to add an IFS frame brace, Idler brace, new idler arm and bronze idler bushing. Finally I want to upgrade the tires to 265/75R16s.

First off would a setup like this make sense for the intended purpose? (I'm well aware that it would be just fine 95% of the time stock)

Next, Is there anything else I should be looking into for a build like this?

Finally, with the canopy on, the back rides about half an inch lower than it did before. With the 2" spacers in the back and 1.5" up front would this level out the ride?

 

Is this a pickup or a 4runner? You mentioned Canopy, so Im assuming Hilux, and not a Surf...

Coil spacers wont work on a leaf spring. Look into Add a leafs, or longer shackles...
