Newb with No Questions??????????
Hello guys,
My name is Brandon. For as long as I can remember I have been a "car" guy, more specifically AWD Mitsubishi/Eagle. I am now 30 and finally talked myself out of the sport car arena and into something with alittle more utility.
Two days ago, I gave up my most prize car........1992 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4............in exchange for a 92 ext cab 4x4 v6 (with less miles than my car). So far I love the truck, it is my first one. It came with 17 years of maintenance records, including a new engine last year.
Some people think that I am crazy, but the vr4 was getting to the point were it was gonna need some high dollar parts and I have a family now...........so its hard to justify replacing the twin turbos for $2000 when they decide to go out, or pay $3k for a new transmission when it goes. So even though the car was cool, it was likely to catch up to me sooner or later.
My next move is to put in a PS pump, the current one is leaking..............and the front brake cable, because it has popped. Then I will focus on making this a very capable trail vehicle with lockers front and rear, but keeping it very streetable.
I do not have any questions.................yet. I know that I am a very capable mechanic, I mean, you have to be with the amount of DSM/Mitsubishis I have owned. I have built motors, transmissions, and various other things...........so I should be ok.
Basically, this is my introduction thread............I couldn't find another place for it.
Seems to be a good crowd here so I hope I can learn and give back. If there are any Northern Alabama folks on here, hit me up. Thanks
