92 4Runner not going into 4WD
Hello,
How new am I? Well I don't even have a 4Runner yet, but I'm trying. There's a local broker that has a rig I've been looking at. Actually I've got a $100 on it while things get sorted out. I checked it out and noticed right off that there was an exhaust leak at the header. The broker handled that so I went back the next day for further investigation. We went out for another test drive because I didn't get a chance to check 4WD. I could hear a click at the dash when switching from 2 to 4. However, there was no dash light that came on. We got out and noticed an electrical connection was missing from the front differential. There's an electrical plug on the front that has nothing connecting to it. The broker had the passenger side head worked over and commented that the mechanic may have removed the wire during the process. He's currently trying to source a replacement. I'm curious if there are other connections I should be looking for? Also, once he's got the wire is there a sure way I'll know that 4WD is working? Any suggestions for things to look for are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
