92 4runner engine sound, Sounds like a baseball card in bicycle spokes

Like the title states, I am hearing a sound on my 92 4runner SR5. It is the 3.0L V6 automatic and the sounds is like a baseball card in bicycle spokes and the sound seems to come from under the hood on the drivers side. That is really the best way to describe the sound.

The sound only happens when accelerating and goes away when not accelerating at all.

Anyone know what this could be?

Thanks in advance.

I will check that, also I do not think the timing belt or water pump have ever been replaced along with the idler pulley. Could these be the culprits for the growling noise?

Check the oil. Might be a rod knocking. Is it consistent with RPM's?

Yes it is consistent with RPM's and also makes the noise when in neutral.

If it speeds up with higher RPMs it may be valve lash is out of speck.
