88 V6 3vze man. to 89 V6 3vze auto?

I have an 89 extra cab automatic that had a blown motor. I pulled it and purchased an 88 3vze manual. I thought it would be identical but the motor mount brackets are different and do not have the same bolt pattern it looks about the same angle though and no tranny lines would get in the way. Is this swap going to work and is there anything else that is different about these motors?

yeah it will bolt up. you can put a mustang 5.0 engine onto a 4x4 transmission and it will work in 4x4, if that puts it into perspective. though with that would be extreme, not nearly as easy as swapping the SAME motor. i just mentioned that to put it into perspective. but to answer your question YES it will work. if you have the know-how, i reccomend putting in a 3.4, since its a better motor than the 3.0, not prone to head gasket failures. hell the 3.4 corrected what the 22re and 3.0 had wrong (timing chain and HG).

I have a 91 3vze automatic engine and it bolted up and dropped right into the frame mounts of a '88 stick shift truck. just needed a pilot bearing.
