88 4runner

going to look at a 88 4runner in the morning it has the ttr engine in it could someone tell me any info on this engine?

TTR, you mean like the small dirt bikes, I used to have a ttr125 when I was a kid the little engine was slow but un-killable and I beat the living crap out of it, a little like those old 22r engines, I think they put them in pre-95 4runners and pickups, ha what a coincidence

i talk to the guy over the phone but you be right he talked a little fast it could be a 22r

It is bro, it is, unless he said 3vze, but that dosent sound anything like 22r,
anyway, you wont be disappointed, these engines are simply amazing, maybe not as powerful as some of the others, but you can bring that thing through hell and back, and It'll be ready to go back a second time.

22RET, but those were dropped for the V6 in '88.

edit to clarify: in '88, your choices were 22RE (4cyl, non-turbo) or 3VZE (6cyl)

he might not know what he got i've had several toyota trucks but never came across a ttr.

thanks for the info it turned out it was a 22re. the guy really didn't know what he had the truck was running rough and bearly ran on it's on. bought the 4runner for 1800 after i checked it over got it down the road and tighten up the spark plug that were about to fall out that i noticed when i looked it over and it runs great.
