2001 Prerunner Rear main seal

I'm looking to purchase a 2001 Prerunner, but it looks to have a leaking rear main seal. How much will that run me to fix? Or can I just seal the leak with anything? I don't want to purchase and have to drop a bunch of money into it.

You can't really seal it with anything that will work. It won't be cheap, there is a lot of labour involved. The transmission has to come out, and if it's a manual you may as well put a new clutch in while you're there.
As for cost I would expect $600 - $800 if you get it done somewhere, and $200 - $300 in parts if you do it yourself.
