88 22re over heating and had piece snap off

I just need to know what piece this small hose would normally attach to because I have to replace it.

That looks like some sort of vacuum port. Let someone else chime in to where it should go.

I think its a bypass vsv, but i cant seem to find out what the port where it attaches is called.

There should be another vacuum hose that attaches into it. That hose should come off of a red VSV on top of the valve cover
