87 4Runner windshield washer button removal
So I recently purchased a '87 4Runner and am just beginning the process of fixing it up. To be able to get it registered I had to change the whole windshield wiper, turn signal assembly due to the washer button missing, which was frustrating because everything worked perfectly with the exception of the missing washer button. I purchased a used assembly off of e-bay that has the button intact, however the assembly is a lot more worn out, and does not function as well as the original one. I have tried to remove the washer button so that I can put it on the old assembly and reinstall it on the vehicle, but I have not had any luck removing it. The last thing I want to do is to break it trying to get it out. Has anyone removed the washer button before? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

So you bought a used combination switch and the reason you bought it was for the washer push button
Now it does not work.
Can you send it back??
I am pretty sure you need to change that whole lever but not 100% sure
After looking at one( my spare) pulling the whole lever appears to be the only way
Do you have the intermittent wipers?
I could pull one out and send you the wiper control arm after making sure it works.
Have you tried cleaning the pins sometimes they corrode and you can`t see with your eye. contact cleaner is your friend

Correct I had to buy one for the washer push button, but that required switching the whole assembly on the steering column. The washer button and wipers work just fine, however the turn signal switch on that one has a few issues, it will only turn the blinkers on for a few seconds and then they just stay on, and the headlights on bright do not work, they do work if you pull them to you, but that is just to flash them, not to keep them on. Maybe it is easiest to disassemble both assemblies and take the good wiper arm and wiring, and put it on the old assembly?
